John David Boyles, Sr.

John David Boyles, Sr. passed away peacefully at his home in Ridgeland, SC on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 surrounded by family.

David was born in Ridgeland, SC on 19 December, 1950 to David Earl Boyles and Minnie Lee Malphrus Boyles.  He was a member of the Ridgeland Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  David worked in the field of underground utilities construction for over 35 years. In retirement, he enjoyed working in the yard, maintaining the lake, feeding the deer and fish, meeting weekly with friends and long car rides around the county with family and friends.

He is survived by his sister, Phoebie Ferguson of Ridgeland, SC; Sister-in Law Martha Fender of Beaufort, SC; three children, John David Boyles Jr. (Mary), of Ridgeland, SC; Micheal Allison Boyles Sr. (Ella) of Clovis, NM; Katherine Strom Boyles of Ridgeland SC. four Grandchildren, Micheal Jr., Jordan, Kira, Jason; two great-grandchildren, Revan, Jax.

He was predeceased by his wife Deborah Strom Boyles; mother and father; brother Sherwood Fender, sister Gwendolyn Boyd; granddaughter Brittany.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 917 Grays Hwy, Ridgeland. The family will receive friends beginning at 11:00 am until the time of service at the church. Lunch will immediately follow the service.
