John “Jack” Creaven

John “Jack” Creaven, age 80, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of New York, NY died Friday, February 17, 2017 at NHC-Bluffton. Mr. Creaven was born on July 21, 1936 in New York, NY, the son of the late William and Bridget Creaven. He was a graduate of Iona College where he earned a degree in business. He was a veteran of the United States Army and following his military tenure began his career in sales with Coors Brewing Co. He was a member of the New York Athletic Club and was a communicant of Church of the Epiphany Catholic Parish. Mr. Creaven was preceded in death by his sister, Eileen Sweeney. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carole Creaven; daughter, Kristen Creaven; son, Glen Creaven and wife Kim; and grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlin, Emily, and Bethany. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 24, 2017 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St. Gregory Drive, Bluffton, SC 29909. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the mass. Burial will follow the mass at 1:00 p.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC with military honors. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
