John Patrick Delaney, Sr.

John Patrick Delaney Sr., age 79, son of Joseph and Catherine Delaney (Cashman), nephew of Catherine (Kitty) Delaney, of Mount Carmel, PA, passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones on January 6 ^th .  He is survived by Eleanor, his beloved wife of 58 years, children Kathleen (John) of San Diego, CA, John Patrick Jr (Michelle) of Haddonfield, NJ, Mark (Michelle) of Williamstown, NJ and Brian (Joi) of Midlothian, Va, along with nine grandchildren Ava, William, Caroline, Delaney, Catherine, Julia, Madalyn, Grayson and Addison as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel High School, he attended Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

After spending most of his career in retail management and sales, John retired to Sun City in Hilton Head, SC where he enjoyed playing bridge and continued his lifelong passion with the game of tennis serving as team captain for many years.  He was also a member of the South Carolina Knights of Columbus (council number 12263) based in Bluffton with St. Gregory the Great.

A private funeral mass will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church at a later date.
