John "Blue" Francis Gogola Jr.

John Francis Gogola Jr. (Blue), 66, of Hardeeville, South Carolina passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones early December 24, 2019.

John’s memory is treasured by his loving wife of 31 years Debbi, his daughters Christy and Hope, and his grandsons Nathan, Tanner, Owen, and Eli. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

John grew up in New Salem, Pennsylvania and graduated from Uniontown High School and from there joined Local 66. He had many different interests throughout his life and loved to share stories about his adventures with a twinkle in his eye and a mischievous grin on his face. He lived life how he wanted and never apologized for being himself. He was fiercely loyal to his friends and family and go out of his way to help those in need. He could fill a space with just his presence, and for those closest to him, that presence will always be missed and remembered.

The family would like to send a special thanks to all of the first responders of Jasper County who have treated him in the past couple years. Your service to our family meant more than you will ever know.

At John’s request, there will be no public ceremony. A ceremony for immediate family will be held at a later date.
