John Glover died suddenly in his home on Monday February 22 in Bluffton, South Carolina at the age of 65. John is survived by his Mother, Vera Glover; wife, Jane Glover; 6 Sons: Steven, Shane, Scott, Daniel, Paul and Mark; Brother, David; and 8 grandchildren. John was born on March 22, 1950 in Paddington, England to Samuel and Vera Glover. From a young age, John was unwavering in his goals. As an adolescent, he competed in the Olympic trials to represent England in the swimming freestyle event. In addition, he held the record for his high school swim team for medley relay until 2012. John became a successful participant in the commodity markets as an arbitrage trader at a young age, and he was the youngest member of the London Metal exchange at that time. He moved to New York City in the 70’s to further his career. John was a spirited, passionate man who lived his life to the fullest. His children remember him as a driven father who encouraged them to pursue their dreams. John loved to spend time with his family. He was a passionate sports enthusiast, particularly Tottenham Hotspurs soccer and football. He especially enjoyed an energetic, competitive game of dominos, cards and board games with his family. He retired early to enjoy warmer weather in Tucson, Arizona and eventually, South Carolina. John was an avid traveler during his retired years. He enjoyed several memorable trips with his wife and best friend, Jane. Private services were held with the family in Hilton Head, SC at the beach where he loved to be. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Liver Foundation in his name.
