John Gyorki

Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. In memory of John Gyorki, born January 18th, 1936 in Paks, Hungary. He led an extraordinary life full of unimaginable journey's full of real life stories of survival. He fled his homeland in 1956 in order to escape the grip of communism so that he could establish a life of freedom in the United States of America. His dream of raising a family in a freedom of choice land was fulfilled in amazing ways. He left his homeland with a skilled trade that allowed him to participate and earn himself a rewarded life that he so desperately dreamed of. John was a man everyone looked up to. His compassion and love overflowed into the lives of many filling voids of the heart beyond measure to those who longed for it. He built a rock solid life with his equally heart gifted wife, Margit Gyorki (Toros). She also breathed love into the hearts of her family and friends as she survives her husband. John was a Husband, Father, Grandfather and gifted mentor. He will be profoundly missed by his wife, Margit Toros Gyorki of Ridgeland, SC; sons, John C. Gyorki (Mary Ann) of Pinckney, MI; Luis J. Szalay (Jennie) of Beaufort, SC; daughter, Amy Geissbuttler (James) of Beverly Hills, MI; Zsuzsanna Toros of Westland, MI; Margit Erica Sharpe (Fred) of Ridgeland, SC; brother, Frank Gyorki (Margit)of Paks, Hungary; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.A memorial service will be held at Advent Christian Church. Date, time and details to be announced.
