John A. “Jack” Valentine, 73, of Bluffton, SC died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at his home. Mr. Valentine was born on September 28, 1942 in Trenton, NJ, the son of the late George B. Valentine and Louise C. O’Lone Valentine. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Trenton, NJ. He served with the New Jersey Army National Guard. He was retired from the New Jersey Department of Corrections. He was a member of Trenton Lodge #105, I.B.P.O.E., where he was a Past Exalted Ruler and was also a Freemason in Trenton. Outside of work and civic involvement, he was an avid sports enthusiast and golfer. Mr. Valentine was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica Valentine; son, John G. Valentine; and brother, Richard L. Valentine. He is survived by his daughter, Aileen Valentine (Paul Monson); his grandchildren, Victoria, Max, and Ethan; his loving companion, Mary Kall and her daughter, Deborah Kall, as well as her children, Kyle, Devin, and Madison; his brother, Robert Valentine (Barbara); his sister-in-law, Wanda Kutschke (Rob); his brother-in-law, Rick Ciesielski (Maura); and several nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2016 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909. Burial will follow the mass at Lowcountry Memorial Gardens, Bluffton. Because of the way Muscular Dystrophy has impacted Mr. Valentine’s family, remembrances may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
