John Weymouth Mullen , 89 years old, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 6.
John is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Frances McClure Mullen; children Myra Eskew, Mary Mullen , John Mullen, and George Mullen; grandchildren Fran Eskew Jordan, David Eskew, Lauren Mullen, Chip Mullen, Toria Mullen , Tevis Mullen; great granddaughter, Anna Eskew; and sister Ann Ellison.
John was born on November 13, 1925 in Roanoke, Virginia, graduated from John Marshall High School, attended North Carolina State University, University of Virginia, and the University of Georgia. He was a World War II Veteran, decorated with the American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, and served his country in the US Air Force Reserves until June 18, 1963.
John was very honored to serve as a Scout Master with The Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of The Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Virginia. He was a Master Gardener . John was a member of Taylor's First Baptist Church, Taylors, SC.
Visitation will be held at Saul's Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, 29910 at 11:30 am Monday, May 12, service at noon, followed by burial at Beaufort National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hidden Treasure Christian School, 500 West Lee Road, Taylor's, SC 29687.
