John Thomas Rocha

John Thomas Rocha, 87, of Bluffton, SC passed away Friday, May 16, 2025 at his home.

John was born December 21, 1937 in Norton, MA to the late Filisberto and Firminia Rocha. He served in the US Navy and worked as a supervisor at LaRusso Asphalt Manufacturing Co. He was a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Providence, RI, and attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Bluffton and St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Hardeeville, SC.

John enjoyed playing billiards and golf. So much so, he worked at the Island West Golf Course and Rose Hill Golf Course.

John will be sadly missed by his friends and neighbors in Sun City.

John is survived by his wife, Patricia Degnan-Rocha; children, Jacqueline Olivo-Rocha, Richard Rocha, Sr. (Susan), Peter Rocha, and Jennifer Rocha; sisters, Barbara O’Brien and Frances Howles (Dave); five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his late wife, Jean Rocha; son, Paul Rocha; two brothers, Filisberto Jr., and Anthony; and sisters, Angie Momo (Babe), Theresa Mazzone (Ray), and Mary Fontaine (Bob).
