John F. Shaner

John F. Shaner, age 85, of Bluffton, SC died Thursday, July 28, 2016 at home. Mr. Shaner was born on June 17, 1931 in Savanna, IL, the son of the late John F. and Mabel Shaner. He retired as a Plant Manager with Alside Manufacturing Building Products. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed his time as a private pilot as well as shooting skeet and targets of which he reloaded his own cartridges. Mr. Shaner is survived by his loving wife, Barbara A. Shaner; daughter, Claudia Collins (Michael) of Bluffton, SC; sisters, Carolyn Truninger of Rockford, IL and R. Janet Hilton (Bob) of Hilton Head, SC. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with a private funeral service.
