John Eric Simonsen

John Eric Simonsen, 43, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away on October 31, 2019.

A memorial service will be held at 2PM on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Saul’s Funeral Home.  Deacon Mike of Saint Gregory the Great will be officiating.

John was born in Port Chester, New York on March 25, 1976.  He graduated from Layfette High School in Williamsburg, Virginia.

John was well-known and well-admired by all at the May River GC and within the CADDIE MASTER® family.   For fifteen years, John had been a valued member of their team.  In total, he accomplished over two-thousand loops around the May River GC and over one-thousand loops around the likes of Maroon Creek;  Hamilton Farms; Piedmont Driving Club; Kiawah Island Club; Sea Island Golf Club; Ocean Forest Golf Club; Frederica Golf Club; TPC Sawgrass, the former Ritz-Carlton, Jupiter; PGA National; and many, many others within the CADDIE MASTER® family.

Caddies possess an extraordinary knowledge of the game and its players; and by word of mouth, each caddie develops his own reputation.  John certainly had a reputation that was his own – and the World seems less bright today without him being a part of it.

John loved his family with his entire heart.  He was a proud son, brother and uncle, as well as a dear friend to all that knew him.

He is survived by Francesca “Randy” Simonsen (mother), his three brothers Christopher (Tonya, Taylor, Rebecca), Scott  (Missy, Joshua, Logan, Noah, Seth) and Danny (Jenny, Gracie, Lucy)

John is preceded in death by his father, Robert George Simonsen and has been reunited with his beloved Golden Retrievers, Sampson and Gunner.
