John Z. Taran

John Z. Taran, 93, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Coastal Carolina Medical Center in Hardeeville, SC.He was born November 1, 1915 in Ansonia, CT. He was a member of Lowcountry Presbyterian Church in Bluffton, SC. He was a retired mechanical engineer, a Navy Veteran of World War II, and a member of the Sun City Veterans Club. He was also an accomplished artist and a graduate of Parsons School of Design in New York City.He is survived by his wife, Irma B. Taran of Bluffton, SC, and two nieces, Marilyn Jezzi and Cynthia Jameson both of Connecticut.A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, November 13, 2008 at Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, 10 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC with burial at 2:30 pm in the Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, SC is assisting the family with their arrangements.
