John F. Wiley Anderson

Mr. John F. Wiley Anderson, 88, the son of the late Henry Wiley, aka Earnest Anderson, Sr., and the late Winnie Bell Dopson Anderson, was born on November 6, 1932 in Jasper County, SC. He passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hilton Head Hospital in Hilton Head Island, SC.

Mr. Anderson was a farmer, raising quail for Okatie Hunting Club and specializing in caring for horses and other animals. He was a member of Second Euhaw Baptist Church, enjoyed riding horses, and was a physical fitness enthusiast.

Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Louise Cuylear Anderson; son, Tony Anderson; daughter, Lisa Anderson; and brothers, Ernest Anderson, Frank Anderson, Edward Anderson, and Ivory Anderson. He is survived by his sons, Clarence Cuylear of Brooklyn, NY, Timothy C. Anderson of New York City, NY, and John F. Anderson, Jr. of Hilton Head Island, SC; daughters, Johnie Lee Anderson of Hardeeville, SC, Marie Ann Anderson-Riley of Ridgeland, SC, Louquitta Anderson of Ridgeland, Terri Riley Williamson (Reginald) of Yemassee, SC, Shawna B. Jinks (Jordan) of Yemassee, Elouise E. Anderson of Ridgeland, Romona Brayboy (Kenneth) of Ridgeland, and Lunetta Simmons of Augusta, GA; brother, Arthur L. Johnson; sisters, Queen Esther Grady and Mary Simmons; 51 grandchildren, 107 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, with whom he was very close.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Button Cemetery. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with arrangements.
