John "Bill" William Boston

John William (Bill) Boston departed this World peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at his home in Moss Creek Plantation. Bill will join his wonderful wife of 61 years, Kathleen Joanne (Jo) Boston, who preceded him in 2017. Bill's parents, John Raymond (Ray) and Mary Z. (Mickelsen) Boston, and Bill's brothers, Michael Raymond Boston and Roderick Roy Boston, all preceded him in death.

Bill was born on March 14, 1933 in Boise, ID and lived with his parents in Swan Falls, ID, Thousand Springs, ID, and Ontario, OR until he, with his brothers and parents, moved to Portland, OR in 1942. Bill graduated from Portland's Lincoln High School in 1951 and then joined the Navy. After his tour in the Navy, he met Jo and they were married on Sept. 7, 1956. They raised two children: James Eugene (Martha) and John “Jack” Richard (Karen). Bill had previously enrolled in Oregon State College, where he graduated in 1958 with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He went to work as an Electrical Engineer for Bonneville Power Administration in Portland, OR. In 1961, Bill and Jo moved the Family to Niagara Falls, NY where Bill went to work for The New York State Power Authority.  In 1972, he was promoted to a Senior Executive position located in New York City. Bill and Jo, along with son Jack, moved to Suffern, NY. Their son Jim was in the Army at the time. In 1982, Bill accepted a Senior Executive position with Wisconsin Electric Power Co. Bill and Jo moved to Milwaukee, WI.   Bill also served on various boards in the Milwaukee  area in addition to National Industry Boards and Committees. Bill retired in 1995 as Vice Chairman of Wisconsin Energy, and President and COO of Wisconsin Electric and Wisconsin Natural Gas Companies.

Bill retired in 1995, and he and Jo moved to Moss Creek Plantation in the Hilton Head Island, SC area in January 1996, where Bill enjoyed playing golf and socializing with the many friends that He and Jo had made. In 1997, their son James preceded them in death. Bill is survived by his son Jack (Karen); grandchildren, Seth (Emily), Sara (Jesse), Heather (Ben) and step-grandchildren, Katie and Mathew; great-grandchildren Easton, Quinn, and Alice; and step-great-grandchildren, Evan and Maddie.
