Jonathan E. €Œjon” Bennett

Jonathan E. "Jon" Bennett, 54, of Bluffton died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at his home. Mr. Bennett was born in Mount Rainier, MD on March 5, 1960. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He had a passion for cooking and was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He worked as a chef for many fine restaurants, including The Willard Hotel in Washington, DC. He was working as a chef at the Indigo Pines retirement community when his health forced him to retire. He was a member of Church of the Cross. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Bennett. He is survived by his parents, Lorraine and Walter Bennett and his brother, Jason Bennett, all of Bluffton. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society.
