Joseph Cataldo

Joe Cataldo of Bluffton, SC entered into rest on Monday, February 3, 2025. Son of the late Carmelo and Theresa (Recupera) Cataldo. He was born on August 17, 1941 in New Rochelle, New York. Joe graduated from New Rochelle High School in 1960. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served his country honorably until June of 1964.

Upon returning to civilian life, he started his career with Consolidated Edison for 38 years. When he retired, he and his wife moved to South Carolina where they both enjoyed the warmer weather. In 2008, he started working part time at Enterprise Rent a Car as a driver, which he enjoyed greatly.

He married Patricia (Doyle) on October 22, 1967 at St. Gabriel’s Church in New Rochelle, New York. In addition to his wife, Patricia, of 57 years, he is survived by his sons Joseph B. Cataldo (Geraldine) of Bronx, NY, and Peter C. Cataldo (Heather) of Greenville, SC, Sister Florence Caiano (Paul); Grandchildren Eoghan, Maura, Finnian and Carson Cataldo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his Brother Frank Cataldo, and his Sisters Mary Williams, Josephine Raplee, Yolanda D’Onofrio, and Carmela (Millie) Tebolt.

Visitation will be at Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, 90 Simmonsville Road, on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 2 to 4 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
