Joseph E Martineck passed away Saturday July 19, 2014 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease. He formerly lived on David Drive in Wallingford CT before moving to So. Carolina. Joseph was with Company D 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 17th Airborne Division in WW2. He had a total of 13 jumps in Europe for which he was always proud. He retired in 1991 after working in the Quality Control Dept. at Ulbrich Stainless Steel and Special Metals for 30 years. In his younger years he was well known for his dancing on roller skates. His interests included auto mechanics, music and dancing. He is survived by his wife Louise of 52 years and his 2 sons, Jeffrey D Martineck Sr. (Chris) and Warren J Martineck (Patty) and grandsons, Joey, Jeffrey Jr. and Daniel (DJ) Martineck. He is also survived by a special niece, Judy Tessmer (James). He was predeceased by his brothers, Charlie, John and Frank, his sisters, Anne Yasensky Poslusney, Rose Torelli, Katie Echart, Mary Stepaney, Ellie Durgan and a special nephew, David Durgan. At the convenience of the family, a Memorial Mass and Service will be held in Wallingford at a time to be announced.
