Joseph Michael Meyer, 49, died Sunday, November 30, 2008 at his home in Bluffton, SC.He was born May 20, 1959 in Savannah, GA. He was the son of Joseph Walter Meyer and the late Edith Jeanne Bazemore Meyer.He was a life long resident of Bluffton, SC. He golfed in the Bulldog Tournament, was an avid fisherman, a member of the Marine Rescue Squadron in Bluffton, and the Candy Cane Man on the John Corwin Electric-Joe Meyer Plumbing float in the Bluffton Christmas Parade. He loved Georgia Tech and Nascar racing.He is survived by his wife, Tammy Jo Meyer of Bluffton, SC; his father, Joseph Meyer of Bluffton, SC; his sister, Susan (Buddy) Murray of Savannah, GA; one niece, Lisa (Tim) Maguire and family; two nephews, Steven Murray and Michael (Gail) Murray and family. He was predeceased by one brother, Steven Meyer.A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, December 4, 2008, at 6:00 pm at The Church of the Cross, 110 Calhoun Street, Bluffton, SC.In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Tidewater Hospice, 181 Bluffton Road, Suite B 102, Bluffton, SC 29910 or the Marine Rescue Squadron of Bluffton, P.O.
