Joseph S. Rosenbloom, Esq., passed away at Bluffton, SC on December 27, 2012 at NHC-Bluffton at the age of 95.He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Irene Rosenbloom of Bluffton, SC.Mr. Rosenbloom is lovingly remembered by son Richard Rosenbloom and daughter-in-law, Patrice of Fairbanks, AK; daughter Cynthia Rosenbloom Lee and son-in-law James of Fairfield, CT; son David Rosenbloom and daughter-in-law Cheryl of Binghamton, NY; grandchildren Alyssa, Travis, Thomas and Jason Rosenbloom, Beth Dougherty and Jimmy Baldwin; great grandson Lyndon Baldwin; sister Janet Lytle; nephews Steven and Craig Rosenbloom and niece Karen Rosenbloom.He was predeceased by his first wife, Frances Rosenbloom of Binghamton, NY; brothers Richard and Carl of Syracuse, NY; and son Kent Rosenbloom of Binghamton, NY.Mr. Rosenbloom was born in Fulton, NY in 1917. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Arts & Sciences from Syracuse University in 1949 and earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1951, also from Syracuse University.Mr. Rosenbloom was an attorney for the IBM Corporation for thirty-seven years, where he was Counsel to the Research and Advanced Systems Development Divisions in Armonk, NY.Because of his pioneering work on communication systems for the burgeoning computer market, he was named a Fellow of the Radio Club of America (RCA), the foremost club in the wireless and broadcast industries, in 1978. Mr. Rosenbloom was a member of the RCA, which set the standards and principles for radio communications and radio operations, for many years, and served as its Vice President and Counsel for several terms. He was also an active member of the National Association of Business and Educational Radio, from which he received several awards.A veteran of World War II and the Korean War, Mr. Rosenbloom served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and the United States Air Force.Mr. Rosenbloom enjoyed sports, especially tennis, which he played well into his eighties, and all sports played at his alma mater, Syracuse University.The visitation and service of remembrance will be held at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, in Bluffton on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11 AM with burial at Beaufort National Cemetery at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum, 175 Bourne Avenue, Pooler, GA 31322.
