Joseph Rodney Smith

Joseph Rodney Smith, age 49 of Early Branch passed away on August 11, 2020 at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston.

Joe was born in Hampton, SC on June 12, 1971 to Josephine Maudette Parker Smith and the late Jacques Charles Smith.

Joe was a truck driver for the logging and forestry industry and drove, many years, for the Sherwood Timber Company.  He was a member of Pine Level Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother of Grays, SC, he is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Nicola Smith of Bluffton; two sons, Richard Larry Nicola of Bluffton and Rodney Armand Smith of Grays; his daughter, Rebecca Nichole Smith of Fairfax; his brother, Rodney Charles Smith of Grays and his sister, Susan Smith Scott (Pastor Michael) of Grays.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Pine Level Baptist Church with burial in Grimes Cemetery.  The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until the hour of the service at Pine Level Baptist Church.
