Joy Kendricks, 80, of Beaufort, SC and widow of James Luther Kendricks Sr. passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital.She was born in Savannah, GA on June 2, 1932 to the late Thomas Clarence and Vera Goodman Hudson.She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Indian Hill Baptist Church in Bluffton and she enjoyed sewing and crochet. She was a loyal wife of James L. Kendricks Sr. as they spent 28 years traveling together in the US Army and US Air Force. She loved her grandchildren.She is survived by two sons, Billy Ray Kendricks (Cathy) of Statesboro, GA, James L. (Jerry) Kendricks Jr. of Beaufort, SC; grandchildren, Joseph Clarence Kendricks Jr.; Thomas Michael Kendricks; Stephen James Kendricks; Stephanie Joy-Ann Kendricks and Dawn Marie Cloukey; great grandchildren, Thomas Michael Kendricks Jr.; Jamey Kendricks; Brielle Hager, Logan Cloukey, Keegan Johnson, and Bella Johnson; sister in law, Jean Hudson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Joseph Clarence Kendricks; one brother, Thomas C. Hudson Jr. and one sister, Elva Smith.Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, April 19, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton with burial in the Bluffton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 til 8, Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the funeral home.
