Joyce Allene Wurster passed away at home with her children by her side on December 29, 2024 and is now with her Lord and Savior. Joyce was born on January 31, 1945 in Abington, PA to Effie Bissinger Lembert and Henry G Lembert. She was the loving wife to Fred William Wurster who preceded her in death on February 18, 2024, they shared almost 51 years of marriage together.

She had two children: Fred W. III, husband of Rosemary Wolfgang Wurster of Middletown, DE, Suzanne A. Wurster at home. Two grandchildren from Fred and Rosemary are Madelyn & Ian Wurster.

Joyce had three older siblings, Robert B Lembert (deceased), Carol J Lembert Hackett, and Kenneth M Lembert (deceased). She was the loving Aunt to multiple nieces and nephews and second mom to many.

Joyce graduated from Germantown High School in 1963 and met the love of her life while working in Conshohocken in 1972 and getting married on March 31, 1973.

Joyce lived most of her married life in West Chester, PA where she enjoyed floating in her pool. After retirement Joyce and Fred, moved to Gap, PA and after Fred’s passing in early 2024 Joyce and Suzanne relocated to Ridgeland, SC.

Joyce professed her salvation at an early age, and after getting married, she reaffirmed her salvation and was baptized after. Joyce carried her love for Jesus throughout her entire life in everything she did.

Joyce was employed as an administrative assistant, spending the majority of her career with Paychex and finally retiring in 2006 from Goodman Fielder.

Joyce believed in service to others and that was demonstrated with her many years of serving as a Sunday School teacher, church greeter, serving on her church’s mission board, conducting regular visitation, and teaching Awana and vacation bible school.

Joyce enjoyed crocheting and making cards. Joyce was a regular contributor to Warm Up America, where she would send crocheted squares for blankets to be donated to those in need.

Joyce most recently became a member of Maye River Baptist Church in Okatie, SC where she immediately felt loved and welcomed by so many upon moving to Ridgeland in August 2024. She especially cherished her relationship with Pastor Shane “bro” Wynn.

A memorial service will be held at Maye River Baptist Church located at 3507 Okatie Hwy, Bluffton, SC 29909 on January 11, 2025. Visitation will be at 10am with a service at 11am. A luncheon will be provided following the service at the church.
