Judith (Judy) Ann Knipple, 78, passed away November 9, 2024 in Hilton Head, SC surrounded by her loving family, Judy was born in Watsonville, California on June 24, 1946. She grew up in Watsonville, and during her school years, she was actively involved in the Girl Scouts and played the accordion in Phil Marinovich's marching band. Judy often marched in town parades and was crowned the Queen of the Apple Contest in 1962.
Judy joined the United States Air Force in 1973 and served until 1977. She met her husband, Kenneth Knipple, during her time stationed at Vandenberg Air Force Base and they married April 15, 1978. Judy, Ken, and their daughter, Stacy, enjoyed traveling around Europe together during their time living in England, where Ken was stationed. In 1989, Judy and her family moved to Idaho and lived happily in Boise for many years. Judy and Ken moved to Bluffton, SC in late 2020 to live near their daughter and four grandchildren.
Judy loved her family deeply and enjoyed doting on her four grandchildren. She was a talented cook and artist and enjoyed music immensely. Judy's greatest legacy was her beautiful faith in Jesus. She loved reading her Bible and sharing her faith with her family.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Rosalie Gardner, and her son, Anthony. She is survived by her loving husband, Ken, her daughter Stacy Berry, her brother Harvey Gardner, her sister Charmaine Patterson, and her nephews Marc Gardner and Paul Gardner. Judy was a devoted Mimi to her four grandchildren, Emma Rose Berry, Noah James Berry, Avelyn Sadie Berry, and Elise Ann Berry.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel of Saul's Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 3:00 pm.
