Judith Ann Pettit

February 23, 1945 — December 23, 2015

Judith Ann Pettit, 70 of Hilton Head Island, SC and wife of Robert Austin Pettit passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at her home.

She was born in West Hazelton, PA on February 23, 1945 to the late Herman Schweitzer and Marjorie Burke Schweitzer. She and her husband moved to Hilton Head Island on July 4, 1996. She was a certified x-ray technician; an artist who worked in oils and later moved to pastels. The photo on the front of this program exemplifies Judy at her happiest times, not necessarily happy faced, but she was engaged in her art work and happy with having a show of her work. She was a Catholic; loved to travel with her husband, Robert in their motorhome and loved her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by her sons, Robert Arago (Rosalina) of San Jose, CA and Miles Tyler Pettit (Elizabeth) of San Diego, CA; her daughters, Maria Arago Homann (Mark) of Bluffton and Dana Lynn VanHove (Nicholas) of Santa Monica, CA; two sisters, Frances Kimmic (Robert) of Bluffton and Sandra Kline (John) of Alpharetta, GA; and her grandchildren, Kylie Joy Pettit VanHove, Alexandra Homann and Maxwell Homann. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 3:00 pm, Saturday, December 26, 2015 at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, Hilton Head Island, SC. In lieu of gifts, donations may be made to Hospice Care of America, who were deeply loving and invested in not only her health, but her soul, and also displayed extreme kindness to Judy and our extended family who visited from far and wide over the time they were with us.
