Judith Ann (Ryan) Schneck

Judy Schneck, 82, of Bluffton, South Carolina passed away at her home on July 19th, 2022, to be with our Lord after a brave 3 year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Judy was born on March 6, 1940 to John and Maxine Thorp in Inglewood, California. Judy grew up in Denver, Colorado. After graduating from The University of Northern Colorado, she moved to Long Beach, California in 1961 to be a teacher and this is also where she met her husband, Tom. They wed on December 29th, 1962.

In the early years of their marriage, they lived in Michigan and California before eventually moving to Severna Park, Maryland where they raised their four children. Judy enjoyed working for a state senator in Annapolis, Maryland for many years.

After Tom retired, they relocated south to North Carolina and then eventually found their way to Sun City, in Bluffton, South Carolina to be closer to friends. Judy loved living in Sun City. She treasured her many friendships and enjoyed painting and playing cards, especially bridge. She also loved watching Men’s college NCAA basketball.

Judy is survived by her loving husband Tom; her beloved children, Lori, Mary Kay, Michael and Jenny; her cherished siblings; Michael Ryan, Patty Jo Johnson, and Patrick Ryan as well as her adored grandchildren Jake, Tom, Ryan, Casey, Cameron, Connor, Caleb and Colton and her great grandchildren, Daniel and Ruby. Her mom, Maxine Ryan and sister, Janet Steinke, predeceased Judy.

On Monday, August 8th at 10:30am, a funeral mass will be held at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 31 St Gregory Dr. Bluffton, SC 29909 with the burial immediately following in the resurrection garden on the church grounds. A Celebration of Life will then follow at the Parish Life Center at the church.
