Julio A. Ortiz

Julio A. Ortiz passed away at the age of 75 on June 27, 2021.  He was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1946 and lived in Lindenhurst, Central Islip, and Great River (all in New York) and retired to Sun City, South Carolina.

He is survived by his wife Carol Ortiz of 52 years, his son Dennis and his wife Joann and grandsons Jayden and Derek who reside in Las Vegas.  Also, his son Christopher and wife Jillian and grandchildren Henry and Olivia who reside in Center Moriches, Long Island, NY.  He is also survived by his sister Rose Ortiz, brother Pedro Ortiz and his wife Sandy Carr Ortiz, and sister-in-law Janet Biedermann.

Julio retired from the FAA as an air traffic controller and worked for the 3M company for many years as a field service technician.  He also served in the US Army in at Nike Hercules anti-aircraft missile defense site.

Julio was a wonderful and caring person who loved traveling, boating, fishing, bicycling, hiking, crossword puzzles, chocolate, and talking. He will be deeply missed by all!

A memorial service will be on Friday July 2, 2021 at 10:00 am at Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC, 29910
