June W. GillRidgeland, SCJune Welsh Gill, 92, widow of P. D. Gill, Jr., died Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Medical University of SC in Charleston. She was born on June 18, 1918 in Eccles, WV to the late Thomas Welsh and Catherine Muir Welsh.She was a Registered Nurse; Air Force Flight Nurse, 1st Lt. having served in Europe during WWII and was part of the occupation force in Germany after the war. She was a nurse with Jasper County Health Dept. for 18 years; member, Ridgeland Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and she enjoyed playing bridge. She was the last of eight brothers and sisters.She is survived by her son, Paul D. (Pam) Gill, III of Columbia, SC and her granddaughter, Meredith E. J. Gill of Clemson, SC.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Ridgeland Baptist Church with burial in the Ridgeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the hour of service at the church.
