June Lorraine Johnson

June Lorraine Johnson of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina died Monday, November 26, 2018. She was born February 10, 1927, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to parents Leonard Danielson (deceased) and Ida Danielson (Bjorge) (deceased). Survived by husband, Harvey and children Randall, Rebecca, Mark, and Stephanie. Also survived by brothers Kenneth, Curtis, and Roger and sister Mary Lou. June has three granddaughters and one great granddaughter.

She married Harvey Johnson in Upsala, Minnesota on June 15, 1946. She supported him through college in Minnesota and the Augustana Lutheran Seminary in Illinois. They served Lutheran Church parishes in Donaldson Indiana, Kirkland Illinois, Canton Illinois, and Rockford Illinois. Professionally trained as a singer, June played key roles in the music programs of the churches they served. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rockford College. She and Harvey retired to St. Paul, Minnesota in 1991 and later to Northern Virginia and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. She had been a resident of Bloom at Hilton Head since 2015.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 3, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church, 829 William Hilton Parkway, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

A graveside service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church Cemetery in Upsala, MN.
