Junius Gather "Sonny" Ellis, III, 62, died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in Ridgeland, SC. He was born in Savannah, GA on December 31, 1947 to the late J. G. Ellis, Jr. and Margaret Reynolds Ellis. He graduated from Ridgeland High School and attended North Greenville University. He was a contractor for the US Postal Service; member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and a US Coast Guard Veteran. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.Survivors include his wife Frieda Kessler Ellis of Ridgeland, SC; two daughters, Haley Margaret-Grace Ellis of Bluffton, SC; Emily Gorden-McNeil Ellis of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; uncles and aunts, Lloyd and Jean Bowers of Ridgeland, SC; Dr. Chester and Margaret "Mickey" Taylor of Winchester, VA and five first cousins, Donald Taylor, David Taylor, Pete Roe, Nancy Gibson and T'Lene Sanders.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Ridgeland with burial in Lowcountry Memorial Gardens, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton, SC. A visitation will be held from 6 til 8 pm, Friday, October 1, 2010 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC.
