Kathleen Marie Christy

Kathleen Marie Christy, 56, of Ridgeland, passed away on March 1, 2016, at her home after an extended battle with cancer. Kathy was born in Ridgeland, SC to Esther Rivers Cooler and the late Jack Donald Cooler, Sr. Kathy was a Master Gardner and owner/operator of Native Gardening, a private gardening and landscaping business. She is survived by her mother, Esther Rivers Cooler of Ridgeland; her husband, Jeffrey Lee Christy, of Ridgeland; her son, Serge Kalinowsky of Columbia, SC; her daughter, Elizabeth (Richard) Kyker of Telford, Tennessee; step-sons, Nicholas Christy of Atlanta, Ga. and Nathan Christy of Toledo, Ohio; her sisters, Brenda (Rick) Preacher of Ridgeland and Carla Ashcraft of Ridgeland; and grandchildren, Dakota Tilley of Columbia, SC, Yvelyn Kyker and Addelyn Kyker of Telford, Tennessee and Jackson Kalinowsky of Columbia, SC She is preceded in death by her father, Jack Donald Cooler, Sr. and her brother, Jack Donald Cooler, Jr. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 1:00 to 3:00 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ridgeland. The Funeral service will begin at 3:00 followed by burial in Ridgeland Cemetery.
