Kathleen Sue Coffman, “Kathy” to her family & friends, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at Novant Health Hilton Head Medical Center. She was 77.

She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph “Joe” & Dorothy “Dot” Coffman, her sister & brother-in-law, Judy & Wally Myers, her sister, Rebecca Jo Porter, her niece-in-law, Tammy Hutchison.

She is survived by her sister Jane Hutchison, her nephews, David Myers, (Wendy), Daniel Myers, (Suzy) & Shawn Hutchison, 5 great nephews, 1 great niece, 1 great-great nephew & 4 great-great nieces, her good friends Audrey & Bruce Young & Rick & Kim Cotton.

She graduated from Briarcliff High School in Atlanta GA, then attended DeKalb Community College (now GA State Perimeter College} in Clarkston GA. Her first job was with Pan American Airlines in New York City. At age 21 she left Atlanta for the “Big Apple”. When she worked for Pan Am, she was able to travel the world & visit multiple countries. After she left Pan Am she had various jobs to advance her career. She retired from Century Link (formerly Qwest Communications). After she retired, she moved to Clemson SC & then to Bluffton SC.

She enjoyed life & liked to laugh at herself for silly things she did. She loved children, especially the little ones.

Thank you to the staff at Novant Health Hilton Head Medical Center & Compassus Hospice for the care they gave Kathy.

There will be no ceremonies.
