Kathleen C Singleton

Kathleen Chaney Singleton, 90 of Ridgeland and widow of Junior Singleton passed away on August 21, 2017 at Coastal Carolina Hospital, Hardeeville, SC.

Mrs. Singleton was born in Ridgeland, SC on December 6, 1926 to the late Dave Chaney and Rosa Bell Flint Chaney. She was a graduate of Jasper County High School, a nanny, and a professional housekeeper. She was a member of the Carey Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Singleton is survived by her daughters, Valerie Singleton (Randolph) and Tanesha Locke (Mario) or Ridgeland; step-daughters, Shirley Singleton of Ridgeland and Marilyn Batiste of Ridgeland; Tony Singleton, raised as a son, and Otis Devore, raised as a son, both of Ridgeland; step son, Troy Singleton of Ridgeland; brothers, Julian Chaney of Ridgeland and Elliot Chaney of Miami, FL; sisters, Ovilda Stanford (M.C.) of Savannah, GA; grandchildren, Javar Shuler, Randy Singleton, Vincent Kemp, Tony Singleton, Yvette Heyward, Shantza Heyward, Roshad Batiste, Nikki Smith, Shanice Watson, Mary Richards, and Toshe Smith; and 21 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Loraine Chaney, Christine Singleton, Denise Singleton, and Thelma Chaney, and Naomi Singleton; brother-in-law, Ernest Singleton (Laverne); a host of nieces and nephews; and very close and dear friend, Justine Washington. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard Shular; brothers, David Chaney and Abraham Chaney; sisters, Loretta Chaney, Theresa Devore, and Mildred Jenkins; brothers-in-law, Johnny Lee Singleton (Bessie-deceased), Lovie Singleton, Lester Singleton, Andy Singleton, and Leroy Jenkins; and sister-in-law, Ella Chaney.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Carey Hill Baptist Church, Ridgeland with burial to follow in Grahamville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland.
