Kenneth Robert Chapple

April 20, 1950 — April 19, 2025

Bluffton

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kenneth Robert Chapple, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on April 19, 2025 at the age of 74. He is survived by his beloved wife Lea, cherished children Kelly and her fiancé Matthew Doran and Chris and his wife Maureen, and his adored grandson Finn Riley.

Ken was born on April 20, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of John and Mary Chapple. He began his education at Stuyvesant High School and went on to attend Maritime College where he earned a degree in Nuclear Engineering. Driven by a strong work ethic and a passion for his craft, Ken built a meaningful career over 45 years. He held positions at Con Edison, New York Power Authority and Entergy where his contributions left a lasting impact on colleagues and the communities he served.

He was the beloved husband of Lea Chapple, his partner and best friend for 47 years. Their marriage was built on mutual respect, shared dreams, and a deep commitment to one another.

He was a devoted father who took immense pride in his children, Kelly and Chris. He never missed a moment to encourage them and celebrate their achievements. Whether he was sharing stories around the table, cheering from the sidelines, or offering words of wisdom during life’s toughest moments, his presence was always a source of comfort and joy. His lessons were simple but powerful: to live with integrity, find strength in hard times, and love without condition.

Among his greatest joys in life was becoming a grandfather. Though his time with his grandson, Finn Riley was far too short, the love he felt was immediate and immeasurable. He cherished every moment: the first smiles, the tiny fingers wrapped around his own, and the quiet moments of holding him close.

Ken enjoyed his retirement in Bluffton, SC. Retirement was defined not by stillness, but by living fully. He picked up new hobbies, rediscovered old passions, and traveled with family and friends. Together with Lea, they built a second chapter full of laughter, simple pleasures, and cherished memories.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday May 10, 2025 at 11:00am at Saint Gregory the Great Church 31 Saint Gregory Drive Bluffton, South Carolina where we invite all who knew him to share memories and laughter in honor of a life well-lived.

Though our hearts are broken, we find peace knowing Ken lived a life filled with love, generosity, integrity, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
