Kenneth Michael Matik passed away Thursday. September 28, 2023 after a valiant battle with Parkinson's Disease.
He was born on December 1, 1942 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, the son of the late HelenTokar and Stephen Matik of McKeesport, PA.
Ken was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Phyllis Matik. Ken is survived by 3 children, Monica Franco Webb, Darren (Brett) Matik, and Marc (Nicole) Matik. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, Andrew (Jennifer) Katz, Marisa Katz, Nicole Webb, Zachary Matik, Xander Matik, Ethan Matik, Alana Katz and Mariah Katz.
Ken graduated from McKeesport Senior High School. After graduation Ken enlisted in the U.S Army. Ken worked in the auto parts industry for his father-in-law Ben Paul, eventually purchasing the business from him. He expanded M&B auto supply to multiple locations and then purchased Atlantic City Auto Parts and opened Atlantic City Auto Paint and Body.
Ken and Phyllis retired to Bluffton, S.C. in 2014. He enjoyed cooking, golf, art (painting and drawing), photography, fishing, landscaping and traveling.
Ken loved his dogs, Cooper and Cali, soft coated Wheaten terriers but most of all loved his family. He will be missed and always remembered.
