Kirk Lynn Eaton

Kirk Lynn Eaton, 78, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family. Services will be held later. Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC are handling the arrangements.

Kirk was born on March 4, 1945, in Midland, Michigan, to parents Adelbert and Lorena Eaton. He attended Catholic Schools in Midland, graduating from high school in 1963. Following high school, he attended Michigan State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. Kirk remained a lifelong Michigan State Spartans fan.

Kirk married Trudy Porter Eaton in 1966. They lived in Michigan, Wisconsin and Canada early in their marriage. They had two sons, Geoffrey Porter Eaton and Christopher Corey Eaton. They raised their sons primarily in Marietta, Georgia and spent time at Lake Hartwell, Georgia and on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

During Kirk’s twenty-six-year career as a Levi Strauss & Company Account Executive for Youthwear, in Atlanta, Georgia, he developed many friendships with colleagues and customers that endured until his death. He retired from Levi Strauss & Company in 1996 and he and his wife, Trudy, moved from Marietta to Hilton Head Island, SC.

While living on Hilton Head Island, Kirk was a member (at different times) of Oyster Reef; Belfair and Dolphin Head Golf Clubs. Golfing several times a week with family and friends was a highlight as was organizing and attending golf outings all over the country with friends and former colleagues. Kirk enjoyed traveling, music, attending concerts and live music events and was an avid sports fan, particularly rooting for the Atlanta Braves.

Recently, Kirk and his wife, Trudy, moved from Hilton Head Island to Bluffton, SC to spend more time with their two sons, Geoff and Corey. Kirk is survived by his wife, Trudy and son, Geoffrey, both of Bluffton, SC; extended family and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife’s parents, R.C. and Lu Porter, of Spencer, Iowa and his son, Christopher Corey Eaton (08/13/1972 - 03/02/2023). Celebration of Kirk Eaton's Life will be held from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Monday, November 27, 2023 with a short program at 1:15 pm at the Rotary Community Building at Oscar Frazier Park, 11 Recreation Court, Bluffton, SC
