Krystal Ann Buck

Krystal Ann Buck was given her wings at age 16 on October 30th, 2024, while surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was born on October 17th, 2008, to Christopher and Windy Buck. Krystal grew up in Bluffton, South Carolina, alongside her two older siblings, Kelsey and Casey Buck. She grew up in a close-knit family, bonding deeply with her cousins. Krystal was loved fiercely by her parents, siblings, friends, and family members. She was a light that touched every life she walked or clumsily tripped into. Krystal was creative, kind, clumsy, sassy, made the best of hard times, and was always ready for the next adventure. Krystal loved piglets and always joked about wanting to have her own. She enjoyed spending her summers in the May River with family, game nights with cousins, crafts with friends, and pestering her siblings.

Krystal was a cheerleader and a soccer player, always the first to cheer on teammates and friends. She attended Bluffton High School, Bluffton Middle, and M.C. Riley. Krystal was a childhood cancer survivor. Diagnosed in 2022, she fought hard and won her battle with leukemia, all while continuing to push through school and play sports. In the hospital, she would tell jokes to all her nurses and doctors at each chemo visit. She quickly became the star of her clinic. If you ever asked her, “What’s up?”, the answer would never fail to be a sassy “The sky!”. Krystal's goal was to become a Child Life Specialist one day and help children who had experiences like hers.

In the short time she was with us, Krystal showed us all the miracles she could create and just how much one small person could overcome. She will continue to impact many lives and be a story of strength told to all. Krystal and her warm hugs will be missed by so many. She will be remembered always and loved forever.
