Landis N. Perry, 88 of West Columbia, SC and husband of Dorothy Stutts Perry, passed away on August 26, 2017 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC after a short illness. Landis was born in Southport, NC on June 28, 1929, to the late Nelson Edward Perry and Grace Fox Perry, known for her book, “The Moving Finger of Jasper County”. Landis always considered Ridgeland, SC to be his home. He later moved to West Columbia with his wife of 56 years. Mr. Perry graduated from The University of South Carolina in 1956. He retired from Montague Industrial after 25 years. He was a US Army veteran, and served in Germany during the Korean War. In addition to his wife, Dorothy, Landis is survived by his daughter, Debra Lynne Perry Stec, nieces Tracy Davis Heisler and Linda Davis Pearre, and nephew Christopher Perry Schonning. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland, SC is assisting the family with arrangements. The Perry family would like to extend special thanks to the staffs at Providence Hospital, Heartstrings Hospice, and Lighthouse Hospice for their care and support during Landis’ recent illnesses.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Ridgeland Cemetery, Ridgeland, SC.
