Larry Eugene Rogers (Rog)

Larry Eugene Rogers (Rog) born September 3, 1938, 84 years old called home June 14, 2023, during hospice care at Friends of Caroline’s Cottage, South Carolina. His final days were spent surrounded by the family he loved so much. He was born in Grayville, Il moved to Henderson, KY at 6 months old and considered that home. He made a profession of faith and trusted the Lord at the age of 10. Married Katherine Stewart Rogers (deceased) on January 17, 1959, and were together for 40 years, they had three children Larry Alan Rogers (Christine), Julie Ann Johnston (Kyle), and Russell Eugene Rogers (Shari), and Tiffany Leigh Rosia (Jim). Parents Albert A. and Roberta L. Rogers predeceased him.

Survived by fiancé Betty Bruce Tickle, 3 Children, Grandchildren: Jana Leigh Linger (Brandon), Brittani Christine Kersey (Thomas), Jon Lawrence Johnston (Holly) Parker Alexander Johnston (Maggie), Katherine Ann Dobbins (Jared), Amanda Kay Ganelli, Larry Eugene Rogers II (Sydnei), Alexander James Rogers (Ashley). Great Grandchildren: Joanna Lynn, Lillian Elizabeth, Penelope Jules, Julian Thomas, Mabel Claire, Judah Ruck, Addalyne Mae, Boone Lawrence, Cora Lee, Maisie Grace, Jack Ernest, Landen Kyle, Emmi Katherine, Logan Bryan, Carolina Joy, Gracelyn, Noelle, Claire, with two precious babies on the way.

Friends and family admired Larry. He never met a stranger and made friends with everyone he met. He was an avid music lover, quick wit, had an infectious laugh, smile with a kind and compassionate spirit.

He attended Murray State University in Kentucky before going into the insurance business. In 1975 he founded the Physicians Insurance Exchange (PIE). Larry moved to the Low Country in South Carolina in the late 1990’s where he remained until the Lord called him home.
