Laura "Laurie" Patricia Koning

Laura Patricia “Laurie” Koning passed away on February 6, 2024, at the age of 74. Laurie is survived by her brother William “Buzz” Dunn, and his wife Mary Lee Dunn; her three nieces, one nephew, three grandnieces and four grandnephews whom she doted on. Laurie was preceded in death by her parents William and Laura Dunn, her sister Bernadette K. Snow, and Bernadette’s husband Mauren “Marty” Snow. Laurie passed away one month before the death of her husband of 42 years, Peter Oliver Koning.

Laurie was born on October 4,1949, in Staten Island, N.Y. She grew up in Cumberland, R.I., and graduated from Cumberland High School, and later attended Rhode Island Junior College and Northern Virginia Community College. Laurie enjoyed her early career as a flight attendant for United Airlines for fourteen years and later became a manager at Sun Life. She married Peter Koning on January 2,1982. Laurie loved reading, drawing, traveling, walking her Lhasa Apso dogs, living close to friends and keeping up with her nieces and nephews. She was devoted to Peter, and they enjoyed many happy years and adventures together. She is deeply missed and will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known her.
