Lawrence Aubrey Brooks

Lawrence Aubrey Brooks, of Bluffton, SC, and formerly of Maryland passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at NHC of Bluffton. Born April 27, 1934, he was the son of Walter and Loudie Brooks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Lawrence Brooks. “Larry” Brooks was a graduate of Ben Franklin University with a Master’s Degree in Accounting. Prior to college he served in the Navy during the Korean War as a UDT Frogman and assisted with spearheading the invasion of Incheon Korea. He was an entrepreneur in Maryland in Rewestede, Gasoline and the Bowling business where he is survived by his beloved business partners and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Elly Brooks; a son, Tim Brooks and his wife Shelly; grandsons Josh and Timmy; daughter-in-law, Linda Brooks; grandchildren Nicole Brooks-Martinez (Jorge), Shawn Brooks (Lindsey), and Cody Brooks. He was an avid golfer, sportsman, reader and will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Caris Hospice.
