Leon Marion Lassiter

Leon Marion Lassiter, 85, of Hardeeville, SC passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010 at his home under the expert and tender care of Hospice Care of the Lowcountry.He was born in Hardeeville, SC on August 18, 1924. He was the son of the late William R. and Leita Sauls Lassiter.He was a retired Hydraulic Engineer. He was a US Merchant Marine during World War II and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a member of the Maye River Baptist Church and Deacon Americus. He was an avid Nascar Fan. He is survived by his son, Lawrence W. (Bubba) Lassiter and his wife, Susan of Hardeeville, SC; his daughter, Deidra Ann Parrish and her husband William M. (Bill) of Hardeeville, SC; his brother, James Robert Lassiter of Hardeeville, SC; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and two honorary foster children, Joseph Volpe and Catherine Slowick.Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the Maye River Baptist Church, Bluffton, SC with burial in the church cemetery. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Maye River Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
