Leon Francis Malphrus

Leon Francis Malphrus, 81 of Ridgeland, SC passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 in the Veterans Victory House, Walterboro, SC.He was born in Ridgeland, SC on January 9, 1931 to the late Richard M. and Nellie Roberts Malphrus.He was a retired Ironworker; a member of the Euhaw Baptist Church; a US Army Veteran and a popular songwriter who owned Spiral Staircase Record Production Company.He is survived by his son, Reggie Malphrus of Ridgeland; two brothers, Rudolph Malphrus of Savannah, GA; Paul M. Malphrus of Florida; two sisters, Jeanine Polk of Beaufort, SC; Sandra Breland of Ridgeland, SC and two grandchildren, Jessica and Jamie Malphrus.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams Street, Ridgeland with burial in the Grahamville Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
