Woods, Sr.Hardeeville, SCLeon Evans Woods, Sr., 66, died Sunday, April 20, 2008 in Hardeeville, SC.He was born in Smoaks, SC on June 2, 1941 to the late Lee Roy Woods, Sr. and Mary Lois Carter Woods. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator having retired from Porter Contractor Company after 43 years of service. He was a US Army veteran. He was a member of Carter-Ford Baptist Church in Walterboro, SC. He was an excellent Father, Grandfather and Christian and loved to fish.He is survived by his wife, Sarah Magdalene Benton Woods of Hardeeville, SC; one son, Leon Evans Woods, Jr. of Hardeeville, SC; two daughters, Sue Lynn (Suzie) Woods Hilton of Hardeeville, SC and Laurie Ann (Matt) Scherer Black of Rincon, GA; three brothers, Leroy Woods, Jr. of Midway, GA; Mitchell Woods of Bridgeport, CT; Charlie Woods of Shelton, CT and one sister, Barbara Ann Hughes of Ridgeland, SC and three grandchildren, Sarah Paige Woods, Christopher Evans Hilton and William Jacob Black. He was preceded in death by brother Herschal Woods and sister Rhonda Satka. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC with burial in Beaufort National Cemetery, 1601 Boundary St., Beaufort, SC. A visitation will be held from 6 til 8 pm, Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the funeral home.
