Leon Evans Woods, Jr.

Leon Evans Woods Jr (Junior Woods), 57, died Wednesday February 26, 2026, after a bout with cancer. He was born to Leon and Sarah Magdalene Woods on February 10,1969 in Savannah Ga. Leon spent most of his life in the Hardeeville SC area. He was a facility maintenance engineer for the former Joker Joes Truck Stop. He became ill in 2022 and was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney cancer. He enjoyed listening to music, caring for his dog, watching soap operas (though he wouldn’t admit it to others) and was fully aware of current world events. He never married or had any children.

Leon is preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, several aunts, uncles and cousins. He leaves behind his beloved dog, Daisy. Sisters, Suzie Johnson (Scott) who was his solid rock caregiver, of Hardeeville and Laurie Black (Matt) of Port Wentworth. Nieces and Nephews, Sarah Bolin (Robzy), Christopher Woods-Hilton (Savannah), Jacob Black, and Kyleigh Black, one great niece, Ridley. Aunts and Uncles, Evelyn Crum, Rebecca Spahn and Albert Benton and numerous cousins and special friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at Hollings Cancer Center MUSC and Friends of Caroline Hospice for their care and compassion in their time of need.
