Lesa Diane Wilke

Lesa Diane Wilke, 63, of Hilton Head Island, SC passed away from lung cancer Wednesday, June 7, 2023.

Lesa was born February 15, 1960 in Holland, MI to Jack and Nora Bortner.  She graduated from Michigan Technological University with a bachelor degree in Metallurgy, was an accomplished Engineer/Project Manager who retired in 2013. She was a wonderful loving partner who took great pride in helping people learn by sharing her experiences.  She enjoyed writing goat care books and magazine articles, spending time working on her website (Betterhensandgardens.com), gardening, reading, showing and raising Nigerian goats and traveling.

Lesa is survived by her husband of 41 years, the love of her life, Randy.  Father: Jack Bortner and step-mother: Margie Bortner; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Roger and Diane Wilke; Sibling: Mitch (Laura) Bortner; Brother-in-laws: Ronald Wilke and James Wilke; Sister-in-law: Julie (Paul) Mattek; in addition to aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Lesa is preceded in death by her mother: Nora Bortner, grandparents, Sister-in-law: Connie Wilke and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held with family members on June 15, 2023.
