Leslie Clair "Bud" Rankin Jr.

Leslie Clair “Bud” Rankin Jr., 78 of Coosawhatchie, SC and husband of Frances Wilson Rankin passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016 at his home. Bud was born in Huntington, Long Island, NY on March 26, 1938 to the late Leslie C. Rankin Sr. and Mildred Monks Rankin. Bud was a truck driver and farmer associated with Rankin Truck Brokers; operated LCR Trucking for many years; former dairy farmer and moved to Jasper County in 1955 to operate Ridgleigh Dairy Farm. In addition to his wife of Coosawhatchie, Bud is survived by his sons, Ricky DeLong (Amy) of Smoaks, SC, Charlie DeLong III (Heather) and Timmy DeLong (Tina) all of Ruffin, SC; his daughter, Terri Bishop (Bruce) of Ehrhardt, SC; his brothers, Richard I. Rankin and John L. Rankin (Regina) both of Coosawhatchie, SC; his sister, Ellen N. Bartholomew (Joe) of Manfield, PA; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Bud was predeceased in death by his sister, Linda Timmons. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Coosawhatchie Baptist Church, Coosawhatchie, SC with burial in Stafford Cemetery, Furman, SC. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm until the hour of the service at the church.
