Leslie Horton Meyer

Leslie Horton Meyer, 87, of Hilton Head Island, died at her home on January 8, 2024. She was born on January 2, 1937, in Cleveland, OH, the wife of the late J. Thornwell Meyer III and daughter of the late Donald and Florence Horton. She was a loving and devoted mother of four children and a dedicated friend of many, first in Anchorage, KY, where the family lived for many years. In 1998, she and her beloved husband Thorny moved to Bluffton SC and enjoyed their retirement years expanding their social circle even further, golfing together, and generally living the good life.

Leslie also was an avid choir member, lifting her voice in song in Presbyterian churches both in Anchorage and later in Hilton Head.

She is survived by her daughter, Marcy Todd Whitaker (Charles) of Atlanta, Georgia; her three sons, Steven D. Meyer of Indianapolis, IN, James V. Meyer (Naima) of Stockholm, Sweden, and Jason L. Meyer of Beaufort SC; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
