Lily Mae Singleton

Lily Mae Singleton was born October 27, 1952 to the late William and Orrie Bell Praylow in Ridgeland, SC. She received her formal education at Ridgeland High School.

Lily Mae was a member of First Heyward Baptist Church. She loved to cook and spoil her grandkids.

Lily Mae was a housekeeper, or “household technician” as she would say, for many years until her health failed.

On Saturday, December 10, 2022, Lily Mae was called home to take her rest. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and three daughters, La’Rhonda, Terina, and La’Keeya.

Lily Mae leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Paquetta Singleton of Bluffton, SC and Shelia Wright of Yemassee, SC; two sons, Derone Gardner, Jr. (LaToya) of Beaufort, SC and Brandon Tyler of Yemassee; one sister, Yvonne Moody (Thomas) of Savannah, GA; three aunts, Rosa Bowers (Lawrence), Mary Bryant (Isaac), both of Ridgeland, and Janie Hicks of Philadelphia, PA; one uncle, Johnnie Hicks (Pauline) of New Jersey; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland with burial to follow in Roseland Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 am until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
