Linda J. Zipes

Linda J. Zipes, age 82, of Bluffton (Sun City,) South Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2023, surrounded by her family.  Linda was born in Portsmouth, Ohio and graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Education.  She enjoyed working as a substitute teacher for many years.

Linda and Mike began their life together in New York and relocated to many other states before residing in Sun City in 2005.. Linda is survived by her husband, Mike, to whom she was married for 60 years.  She is also survived by her children Steve (Barbara), Jeff (Sandy), and Susan, her sister, Mitzi, her grandchildren, Malory, Sarah, Laura, Brody, and Ean, and her great grandchild, Addilyn.

Linda was known as the person who would do anything for others and being there for friends and family with an optimistic outlook.  She always put others before herself.  Linda devoted countless hours to the Sun City Newcomers Welcoming Group and the Sun City Book Exchange.  She had a passion for playing Bridge and obtained bronze Life Master status. She loved to travel and meet new people.

Linda was kind and well loved.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her and deeply missed by her family. She touched the hearts of many.
