Lizzie Bell Malphrus Woods

Lizzie Bell Malphrus Woods, 106 of Ridgeland, SC and widow of Marion Cleland, Hadden Roach and Gregorie Woods passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Ridgeland Nursing Center, Ridgeland, SC. She was born in Ridgeland, SC on November 27, 1906 to the late John Walter Malphrus and Golda Virginia Lowther Malphrus. She was a seamtress and avid gardener. She was a cook for all and was known for her candied sweet potatoes and apple turnovers. She was a member of the Ridgeland Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was one of fifteen children. She is survived by her son, Lonnie (Fay) Cleland of Ridgeland, SC; two daughters, Mildred Sheffield of Ridgeland, SC and Verna M. (Ed) Thames of Beaufort, SC; her daughter in law, Elyse "˜Bootsie' Roach (Al) Burnsed of Ridgeland, SC; her grandchildren, Glenda (Matt), Joan (Mike), Maldia, Eddie (Carol), Janet (Russell), Nancy, Marlon (Janet), Tandi(Allen), Kevin (Genie), Derrick (Bonnie), and Aaron; her great grandchildren, Eric (Autumn), Paige (Robbie), Scott, Laurin, Hanna, Justin, Chelsey (Daniel), Katy, Hayden, Rusty (Julie), Michael (Kristi), Jennifer, Christopher (Melissa), Kimberly (Mike), Marlon II, Krystal and Kristen; Ashlyn, Tristen, Mikayla, Cody, Collin, Kyle, Bryan, Brandon, Blake, Kayla and Cheyenne; her great, great grandchildren, Madison, Colby, Amanda (Joel), Amber, Alyssa, Dylan, Tucker, Elliot, Macy, Colsen, Graham, Cassidy, Matthew, Elizabeth, Cameron, Joshua, Spencer, Skyla, Kayleigh, Harrison, Ryan, Ashlyn, Annison, Alyssa and Braxton; great, great, great grandchildren, Pagie, Logan, Mason and Aubrey; two sisters, Dot Way of Ridgeland, SC; Myrtis Gibbons of Hardeeville, SC and one brother, Pinckney (Mary) Malphrus of Ridgeland, SC. She was predeceased by a son, Ted Roach, her grandson, Norris and great grandsons, Josh and Devin. A Funeral Service will be held at 2pm, Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Ridgeland Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with burial in The Ridgeland Cemetery. A visitation will be held beginning 1:00 pm until the hour of the service at the church. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements.
